British Heart Foundation Wear It Beat It Campaign
It was really great to be the hair and make-up artist for the new British Heart Foundation campaign - Wear It. Beat It 2017 - https://wearitbeatit.bhf.org.uk
This was a two day photoshoot working with a wonderful team from Killer Creative marketing agency.
On the first day I worked with heart survivor's, consultants and surgeons which was great as I got to listen to a lot of amazing stories that people were happy to share. In fact, this is one of the favourite parts of my work - getting to hear about other people's lives and the fact that people want share with me.
On the second day, a lot of male, female and children models arrived to have their hair and make-up done so that the British Heart Foundation had a variety of photos to share for their next big advertising campaign.
I really enjoyed being a member of the team that created photos for this campaign for the British Heart Foundation and look forward to working on the next one.
PLEASE NOTE - THIS POST CONTAINS NUDITY
Leading on from the art nude photo shoot with Photographer Richard Maxim, one of the required looks was based on an Egyptian theme.
Richard asked if we could aim towards a traditional Egyptian look, based on stonework;
I love the finished photos :-)
It was great to team up with photographer Emma Jane Lewis, Models Markie Pearl and Wiktoria Salajczyk and Stylist Zoe Van Spyk of We are Water Vintage once more to create these images.
Emma had an illustrator on board, Sneha Kalraand and I had no idea what the final images would look like until they were printed in Elegant Magazine and I got my first few peeks.
The Spec of this shoot was based around 'Colour Pop' with the colour palette and styling based around bright colours, bold lines, lots of pink and light blue. Eyebrows to play a part in the colour pop and to really show. Also to think about the option of using wigs. Styling to be similar - colour pop and retro.
I love the final images and feel that the illustration adds a whole new dimension to the finished photos. I decided to share both illustrated and non side by side for you to form your own opinion as to which you prefer and will explain how I achieved the hair and make-up further down.
I picked up the telephone one day only to have an overexcited photographer scream at me.... 'Pack your bags, we're going to the Maldives'
So I did what she said!
The team was an all female team - photographer, model and me (make up artist, hair stylist and stylist) - plus the photographer's mum (she came along for the ride! - Hazard 1!)
Hazard 2 was when it came to packing - apparently I had no space in my suitcase to pack clothes for me as it would be full of clothes for the shoot we were doing! still, we packed suitcases full of fashion clothes loaned to us by various fashion houses, fashion students etc and wore all of our own clothes on the plane - A bonus is that you loose around 2 stone once you have taken all your clothes off once you have arrived!
We landed in Male, caught a speed boat (at this point we didn't even know which island we was going to) and got off at a very small idyllic Island in the Maldives baby!
